Welcome to Saint Matthew's ChurchesThen the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
Saint Matthew's Churches is ecumenical in our scope and nature. We reach out with love, compassion, and understanding to people of all backgrounds regardless of their ethnic group, creed or gender. One of the ways in which Saint Matthew's Churches reaches out to the community is to hungry people. St. Matthew's food pantry feeds poor and underprivileged people every month.
This is the day of interdenominationalism and church union. Some church scholars and sociologists have gone so far as to say we are living in a post-denominational age.
At Saint Matthew's Churches our desire is to serve beyond the narrow denominational sense. At the same time it must be understood that we highly respect and honor each of the great denominations that are a part of Christ's One Holy Church.
Saint Matthew's Churches is a place of worship for people of all Communions. Our congregations number many people who were not members of one certain church and our personal hope is to make the constituency steadily broader and more inclusive to all of God's people. Isaiah 56:7 says, "...Mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all people." If a church builds a fence to keep its members in, it ultimately fences out more of God's people than it allows in. Saint Matthew's Churches believes that ministers of God's church should be reaching out, in love and compassion, to all people worldwide, regardless of their background or beliefs. Saint Matthew's Mother Church, the Cathedral of Saint Matthew, is located in Houston, Texas. Click here for more information on the Cathedral of Saint Matthew.
We believe that Jesus Christ died on Calvary for all of mankind's sins, not the sins of only one group. Consequently, we have made it our practice to proclaim and preach the Good News of Jesus Christ to as many people as we can in the hope that people will come to know Jesus Christ in a personal way and experience the life He offers to all who believe.
We are an Evangelical, Sacramental and Spirit filled church, with a vision and commitment to be a missionary church for all people of all faiths.
Our focus is deeply rooted in the Great Commandment (St. Matthew 22:34-40) and the Great Commission (St. Matthew 28:16-20).
We preach the eternal truth found in Hebrews 13:8, which states "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
